Still light

Shot at first light, when the tide is still deciding. The horizon does most of the work — I only chose where to stand.

An hour inside a building that had been empty for decades. Light came through one window and behaved like a visitor.

A still-life series made over four afternoons. Nothing was moved. The sun did the arranging.

Layers of distance read as flat shapes once the air thickens. I kept the frame simple so the depth could speak.

Mid-day light is unfashionable, so hardly anyone photographs it. That is exactly why this set exists.
